Johnanneke graduated from the University of Pretoria (Onderstepoort Campus) with a BVSc degree in 1997. She lived in Pretoria, South Africa for most of her life, spending weekends and holidays on her dad’s game farm. She moved to Paarl (a wine growing region) near Cape Town when her children started school.

Johanneke loves being part of the human-animal bond between people and their fur-babies and has been a companion animal vet now for 27 years. She came to NZ at the end of March 2024.

When she is not working, she loves tramping and reading.
